4/3 COSTUME ORDERS—your reply is needed by 4/10
Deadline April 10th!
Time to order our new purple concert tops! Please read the below info from Sabina carefully. Trebles: No cowl necks please. All other necklines are permissible, however it is recommended that you do not order the jewel neckline or small scoop neck due to issues we've had with those in the past. There are lots and lots of other necklines to choose from!
Hello, Firelighters-
As you know by now, the vote for new choir costumes for this Spring and the Europe Tour (Yay!) is purple. We will be using the same company as for the red holiday outfits. This will simplify figuring out the correct sizes for everyone. You tenors/baritones/basses will have the same style of vest and bow tie as before so please just send me your size. https://formalfashionsinc.com/8089nq-vest.html
Treble voices will have the entire panoply (sleeve lengths and necklines) of tops available from which to choose. We can opt to wear your own black open front dressy shrugs or cardigans with the purple sequin tops for concerts. Thinking ahead, most of the churches in Europe will require that shoulders and upper arms be covered. Also our Spring concerts and Europe will be during warmer times of year.
Important information to note:
1) The sizes the manufacturer uses run a size or two smaller than you normally wear. Please look at the size measurement charts when turning in your order. You will probably be asking for a somewhat larger size.
2) The necklines on some of the tops are very limiting. I believe that was for the case for the small scoop and the jewel neckline. Some trebles were not able to get the blouses over their heads and had to have zippers installed in the back or purchase a new blouse. It is recommended you don't choose the small scoop and jewel necklines. Also, Deeji has requested we not choose the cowl necks.
3) Keep in mind that it is very likely that you will need to get your top hemmed. Deeji demonstrated that the blouses should fall about 2” below your natural waist for the sake of uniformity. We will wear the tops untucked with our own dressy black skirts or slacks. No full length skirts and no jeans. Hose worn with skirts needs to be opaque; shoes and socks need to be black. No "flesh" colored feet please.
If you are not sure what size or style to order, chat with your fellow trebles who have a similar torso type as yours.
Here is the link to the website with the blouse options. https://formalfashionsinc.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Deluxe+sequin+blouse. PLEASE be very careful when providing the 6 digit number for the blouse you choose, in addition to the size you need.
PLEASE GIVE ME OR JEAN YOUR INFORMATION BY WEDNESDAY APRIL 10!
Jean Leavens has graciously agreed to assist with the ordering and distribution of outfits. We will need another pair of hands to help with the distribution/reimbursement of the items when they come in.
Your Sparkling Couturier, Sabina
4/2 Extra practice on 4/20
I have confirmed a date for this quarter's extra music rehearsal.
Saturday, April 20th from 9:00-1:00. Music Rehearsal. St. John.
This rehearsal will allow us the time needed to finish learning any of the pieces that we will not have had the time to learn during our Wednesday night rehearsals up to that point. We will also be able to dig in to some of the more challenging pieces at this rehearsal.
Please note the date in your calendars and as always, let me know right away if you will be absent.
As always we will have 2 staging rehearsals at our performance venues. The West Seattle staging rehearsal is confirmed for Monday, June 3rd. 6:30-9:45
I have not been able to confirm our second staging rehearsal at Phinney Lutheran, but will hopefully hear back from them soon!
